Nursery Information

Our purpose-built Chingford nursery is located on the main Chingford Hatch roundabout at the bottom of Chingford Lane, close to Woodford Green and South Woodford. The nursery is open all year round from 7.30 am to 6.00 pm, Monday to Friday (excluding Christmas week and bank holidays), and provides childcare and education for babies and young children from three months to five years of age. Our fees include a nursery backpack and all meals and extracurricular activities.

We understand that choosing a day nursery for your child is one of the most challenging decisions you will have to make. Therefore, you must consider visiting a range of nurseries in the area to find the right one for you and your child. If you would like to arrange a visit or a trial session, don’t hesitate to contact us by telephone or e-mail, or pop into the nursery. Our friendly and professional staff are ready to welcome you at any time.

Our people at Chingford Nursery

We carefully select our staff for their ability to provide warm and consistent care and their understanding of the developing children’s physical, emotional, and intellectual needs.

We vet all our staff to meet stringent requirements set by Ofsted.  Before starting work, we obtain satisfactory references from the most recent former employers and Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service checks for each member of staff we employ. These checks are updated regularly, regardless of the length of service.

Staff Member

The vast majority of our staff have qualification’s in children’s care, learning and development or are qualified to degree level, and we actively encourage others to pursue formal qualifications.  In addition, all staff receive training in safeguarding children, paediatric first aid, moving and handling, food hygiene and fire safety.  We individually assess all training needs and provide ongoing training.

Whilst the top priority of our staff team is to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of the children at all times, we also aim to make the time that your child spends with us an enjoyable ‘learning journey’, which enables them to learn, develop and have fun!

Their interests often drive young children’s learning. Therefore, our curriculum planning is flexible to ensure we use their interests to encourage and motivate them to learn.

Children need to spend time outdoors daily to get lots of fresh air, run around, climb, jump, play and develop a lifelong love of exercise. Our gardens are filled with fun and exciting resources for the children to enjoy.

We arrange resources to encourage the children to play with increasing confidence on their own and with others. They can do this knowing that their key person is there to support them.

Babies, toddlers and young children thrive when they are loved and well cared for. Children are powerful learners, and every child can make fantastic progress in their learning with the right help.

We use mathematical language to help children compare quantities, such as ‘more than’ and ‘fewer than’ and phrases such as ‘the green cube is above the blue cube’ and ‘the brown cube is at the top’ to help them understand position, patterning and sequence.

Staff carefully organise enabling environments for high-quality play. Sometimes, they make time and space available for the children to invent their own play. Sometimes, they join in to sensitively support and extend the children’s learning.
