Nursery Information

The South Woodford nursery is located just off the main high road, George Lane, and close to South Woodford Station (on the central line).  The nursery is open all year round from 7.30am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday (excluding Christmas week and bank holidays), and provides childcare and education for babies and young children from the age of three months to five years.

Our fees include a nursery backpack and all meals and extra curricular activities.

We understand that choosing a nursery for your child is one of the most difficult decisions that you will have to make. It is therefore important that you visit different nurseries in the area to find the one that’s right for you. If you would like to arrange a visit or a trial session, then please contact us by telephone or e-mail, or pop into the nursery. You are welcome at any time.

We introduce children to computers and basic Maths and English software in pre-school, so that by the time they go to school, they are familiar with using a mouse and keyboard.

We encourage the children to develop their own ideas and then decide which materials to use to express them. They learn to draw with increasing complexity and detail, such as representing a face with a circle and including details.

We encourage the children to use all of their senses in hands-on exploration of natural materials. We show and explain the concepts of growth and change, including the life cycle of plants.

We introduce children to a broad selection of action songs from different cultures and languages, and encourage them to accompany the actions and sounds with movements or musical instruments.

Regular sharing of books and talking with children about their ideas and responses (dialogic reading) helps them to develop an enjoyment and understanding of books from an early stage.

Children are powerful learners. Effective pedagogy is a mix of different approaches. Children learn through play, by observing one another and through guided learning and direct teaching.
