Nursery Information

Our purpose built single storey Guildford nursery is situated within Queen Elizabeth Park, next to Refresh Community Café and Nuffield Health Gym. The nursery is open all year round from 7.30am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday (excluding Christmas week and bank holidays), and provides childcare and education for babies and young children from the age of three months to five years.

Our fees include a nursery backpack and all meals and extra curricular activities.

We understand that choosing a nursery for your child is one of the most difficult decisions that you will have to make. It is therefore important that you visit different nurseries in the area to find the one that’s right for you. If you would like to arrange a visit or a trial session, then please contact us by telephone or e-mail, or pop into the nursery. You are welcome at any time.

It’s vital for children to spend time outdoors every day, to get lots of fresh air, run around, climb, jump, play and develop a lifelong love of exercise. Our gardens are equipped with fun and interesting resources for the children to enjoy.

Babies, toddlers and young children thrive when they are loved and well cared for. Children are powerful learners and every child can make amazing progress in their learning, with the right help.

We encourage the children to explore colour and colour mixing. We talk to them about the differences between colours and help them to refine their colour mixing. For example, by asking ‘how does blue become green’?

We use mathematical language to help children compare quantities, such as ‘more than’ and ‘fewer than’ and phrases such as ‘the green cube is above the blue cube’ and ‘the brown cube is at the top’ to help them understand position, patterning and sequence.

We encourage the children to develop friendships with others. We support them to find ways through play and the sharing of suggestions and ideas. This also gives them more confidence when interacting with others in social situations.

We encourage children to make comparisons between objects relating to size, length, weight and capacity. Children learn to experiment and appropriately select shapes and objects for building, combining them to make new shapes.
