Our Day Nursery Information

The nursery is located on Dukes Ride; just a few minutes walk from Crowthorne village centre. The nursery is open all year round from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm, Monday to Friday (excluding Christmas week and bank holidays), and provides childcare and education for babies and young children from three months to five years.

Our fees include a nursery backpack and all meals and extracurricular activities.

We understand that choosing a nursery for your child is one of the most challenging decisions you will have to make. Therefore, it is essential that you visit different nurseries in the area to find the one that’s right for you. If you would like to arrange a visit or a trial session, please contact us by telephone or e-mail, or pop into the nursery. You are welcome at any time.

Children are powerful learners. Effective pedagogy is a mix of different approaches. Children learn through play, by observing one another and through guided learning and direct teaching.

We invite into the nurseries people from a range of occupations, such as dentist, plumber, construction worker and members of emergency services. We encourage the children to role play these and other professions to expand their knowledge and vocabulary.

We encourage the children to explore colour and colour mixing. We talk to them about the differences between colours and help them to refine their colour mixing. For example, by asking ‘how does blue become green’?

Staff carefully organise enabling environments for high quality play. Sometimes, they make time and space available for the children to invent their own play. Sometimes, they join in to sensitively support and extend the children’s learning.

We encourage the children to use all of their senses in hands-on exploration of natural materials. We show and explain the concepts of growth and change, including the life cycle of plants.

Babies, toddlers and young children thrive when they are loved and well cared for. Children are powerful learners. Every child can make progress in their learning with the right help.
