My Training Journey: Megan Hutt On Her Time At Kids Inc

by Kids Inc Nurseries | 11 February 2026 | Blog

Completing my Level 3 Childcare qualification was never just about passing a course, it was about personal growth, professional development, and proving to myself that I was capable of more than I once believed.

One of my biggest challenges was Maths. It has never been my strong suit, and having to sit multiple Maths exams tested my confidence. Each attempt came with frustration, self-doubt, and moments where I questioned whether I was cut out for this career.

After failing twice, the pressure felt immense. But with encouragement, persistence, and the support around me, I kept going. When I finally passed on my third attempt, I cried. It wasn’t just relief, it was pride. Pride in not giving up. Passing my qualification with a distinction made every struggle worth it.

Alongside hands-on experience, my professional development grew massively thanks to the training team. They didn’t just help me pass my qualification, they helped deepen my understanding of child development, safeguarding, planning, observations, and reflective practice.

Through guidance, feedback, and ongoing training, they supported me in turning theory into confident practice. They encouraged me to ask questions, reflect on my work, and continuously improve, not just for the qualification, but for the children in my care.

Once I obtained my qualification, I was able to truly demonstrate my ability to lead the department. I ensured all paperwork was accurate and up to date, maintained high standards of care, and made sure every child was looked after with genuine love, patience, and attention. The training and support I received gave me the confidence to manage responsibilities effectively while still keeping the children at the heart of everything I did.

Eighteen months ago, I was promoted to the role of Deputy Manager, and I’m still learning every day. This role has allowed me to continue developing my leadership skills, expand my knowledge, and grow in confidence while supporting both staff and children.

This experience has taught me that challenges don’t define your limits, how you grow through them does. With the right support, determination, and belief, even the hardest moments can lead to something you’re truly proud of. 💛
