SPRING TERM 2019

Festival of sleep – Thursday 3 January
Join us at nursery today wearing your cosy pyjamas.  We will be doing lots of fun activities, all whilst wearing our pj’s!

National Storytelling Day – Monday 28 January
Join us today by bringing in your favourite story to share and read with all your friends.

Chinese New Year – Tuesday 5 February
Today we will be celebrating the year of the Pig by making decorations, pig masks and enjoying a yummy stir fry for tea.

National kite flying day – Friday 8 February
We will be making kites today and flying them in our garden, let’s see how high they can go!

Valentine’s Day Workshop – 9.30am to 10.30am, Thursday 14 February
Drop in and make a special card and gift for someone special.

Saint David’s Day – Wednesday 1 March
We will be using arts and crafts to make traditional daffodils to celebrate this national day.

Pancake Day – 7.45am to 8.30am, Tuesday 5 March
Join us for breakfast and indulge in some delicious toppings, traditional lemon, raisins, jam or syrup. Which one will you choose?

World Book Day – Thursday 7 March
Dress up as your favourite story book character and bring in your favourite story to share with your friends.

St Patricks Day – Friday 15 March
To celebrate today we would like you to come in wearing something green. It can be the whole outfit or just a hairband or pair of socks! We will be making lucky shamrocks to take home.

Holi Festival – Thursday 21 March
Come to nursery dressed in bright colours to celebrate this Hindu Spring festival of vibrant colour.

Mother’s Day Workshop – 9.30am to 10.30am, Friday 29 March
We would like to invite all nursery daddies to come in and help their child make a lovely gift for mummy, all ready for Mothering Sunday.

National Zoo Day – Monday 8 April
We will be making animal masks and learning all about animals today.

Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Nests – Tuesday 16 April
Today we will be doing our annual Easter egg hunt. We will also be making some yummy Easter nests to take home.

Easter Bonnet Parade – Wednesday 17 April
Celebrate in style by creating a unique bonnet with your little one, all entries will receive a certificate and there will be a prize for the winning bonnet in each class. All bonnets will be displayed and we will enjoy a fabulous parade with all our contestants.

SUMMER TERM 2019

St George’s Day – Tuesday 23 April
Today we will be celebrating by wearing red and white. We will make flags to celebrate the day.

May Day Maypole Dancing and Picnic – 3.00pm to 4.00pm, Wednesday 1 May
Join us in celebrating the start of May with a lovely spring time picnic and some dancing.

Chelsea Flower Week – Tuesday 21 May to Friday 24 May
This week we will be putting our green fingers to the test, planting flowers, creating displays and learning how plants and flowers grow.

Child Safety Week – Monday 3 June to Friday 7 June
We will be inviting some of our parents in to talk about their occupational roles during this important week, as well as giving lots of useful information out.

The Queens National Birthday Breakfast – 8.00am to 9.00am, Friday 7 June
Join us for a yummy royal breakfast to celebrate the Queens Birthday.

Father’s Day Workshop – Friday 14 June
We are inviting all mummies in to join their child in making a special treat to take home for daddy or grandad for Father’s day.

International Day of Yoga – Friday 21 June
We will be doing fun movement sessions to celebrate international day of yoga. Children are invited to come in wearing comfy leisure clothes to take part.

Annual Forest Walk and Picnic – 10.00am to 1.00pm, Saturday 29 June
Join us for our annual nursery get together, details will be sent out nearer the time. All family and friends are welcome to join us.

American Independence Day – Thursday 4 July
Wear your stars and stripes, or red, white and blue to nursery today.

Summer Fete and Pre-school Graduation – 10.30am to 1.30pm, Saturday 13 July
Roll up, Roll up, for all the fun of the fair! Our fantastic team will be hosting traditional stalls. Our local charity will be in attendance, Guide Dogs for the Blind. We will then finish with our special event of the day, our pre-school graduation, tissues at the ready!

International Day of Friendship – Monday 5 August
We will be writing letters and sending pictures to some of our sister nurseries, and will share the lovely replies in our classes.

Teddy Bears Picnic –-3:00pm to 3:45pm, Friday 9 August
Join us for a lovely garden picnic, don’t forget your teddy bear!

Pre-school Sports Day – 2:15pm to 3:00pm, Thursday 29 August
Join us for our annual sports day event, we will have lots of activities taking place and a race for parents too.
