Our fees are based on the number of days or half-days your child attends each week, spread evenly over 51 weeks per year. This includes all food, consumables, and activities – there are no hidden extras. Can I use government-funded hours? You can use government funded hours if eligible, with availability depending on whether you qualify for 15 or 30 hours, from 8. 00am to 6. 00pm. Are there discounts for siblings? We offer a sibling discount of 5% for children whose younger siblings also attend the nursery, but this discount cannot be combined with any other discounts. What if I need extra sessions? Completing my Level 3 Childcare qualification was never just about passing a course, it was about personal growth, professional development, and proving to myself that I was capable of more than I once believed. One of my biggest challenges was Maths. It has never been my strong suit, and having to sit multiple Maths exams tested my confidence. Each attempt came with frustration, self-doubt, and moments where I questioned whether I was cut out for this career. After failing twice, the pressure felt immense. But with encouragement, persistence, and the support around me, I kept going. When I finally passed on my third attempt, I cried. It wasn’t just relief, it was pride. Pride in not giving up. We celebrated this exciting milestone with a Christmas themed launch event on Saturday 29 November, when families from Buckhurst Hill and the surrounding areas joined us for a day full of fun, warmth and community spirit. (Grand Opening, Buckhurst Hill Launch! ) A Festive and Magical Celebration for Local Families The Buckhurst Hill nursery launch had an unmistakably magical atmosphere. One of the biggest highlights of the day was the arrival of Santa. Seeing the children’s faces light up as they met Santa made the whole event feel truly special. Adding even more sweetness to the occasion, families were treated to a chocolate fountain – an instant hit with both children and parents! We were also delighted to welcome a range of local businesses, including a pizza truck, a jewellery stall and a local florist, who helped bring the launch to life. Settling In Sessions In the lead up to your child’s start date, our nursery manager will contact you to arrange your settling in sessions. During the first settling in session, you will remain in the room with your child, meet the room team and complete paperwork required to help the team get to know your child. In the second settling in session, you will remain in the room with your child for about half of the session, and then spend time with the nursery manager to finalise any remaining paperwork and give you another opportunity to ask further questions that you may have. During the third settling in session, we would request that you drop your child at the nursery and then leave for around two hours. In the lead-up to Christmas, Kids Inc Nurseries have donated a vast array of essentials for babies to two baby banks, local to our head office in Redbridge, London. These baby banks are Orchard Baby Bank in Woodford Green and Loxford Baby & Toddler Bank in Ilford. Christmas can be a difficult time for many families, especially during the current cost-of-living crisis, and we truly believe that every child deserves the best start in life. The volunteers at the baby banks were sincerely grateful for the donations.   Items that we donated included nappies, wipes, baby formula, baby bottles, teething toys, bibs, muslins, bodysuits, onesies, blankets and some baby toys. Baby banks are essential for struggling parents and rely on donations in order to support families in need of the bare necessities. The Kids Inc Nurseries training team are delighted to announce the launch of our Kids Inc Training Academy, established to support our practitioners with their ongoing professional learning and development, and thereby enhancing their career prospects.  As well as training our own practitioners, training sessions will also be open to other local nurseries that may not have their own internal training teams. Following our first Ofsted inspection at Kids Inc Day Nursery in Broomfield, we are delighted to announce we have been awarded a 'Good' rating, reflecting the dedication of our staff team and the exceptional care and education they provide to the children in their care. This achievement comes after our Broomfield nursery joined the Kids Inc Nurseries group in February 2023 and officially launched September 2023 as Kids Inc Nurseries’ 15th setting. The Ofsted inspector was highly impressed with the children at our nursery, stating: ‘Children are becoming confident communicators. Our Clarence Avenue Day Nursery’s chef, Marian Ionita, is one such individual who’s paving the way for more nurseries to follow his sustainability example and grow great-tasting, fresh, organic produce. However, Marian isn’t just a nursery chef – he’s an integral part of Clarence Avenue’s culture and the children’s daily lives.

Our Clarence Avenue Day Nursery’s chef, Marian Ionita, is one such individual who’s paving the way for more nurseries to follow his sustainability example and grow great-tasting, fresh, organic produce. However, Marian isn’t just a nursery chef – he’s an integral part of Clarence Avenue’s culture and the children’s daily lives.     A Bit About Marian Marian is passionate about getting the children involved with planting and growing organic vegetables in the rooftop garden. The items they grow are later harvested and used in the nursery’s menus, giving the children an understanding of the connection between nature and food sources. Marian also does his own composting, which he is encouraging the children to do at home with their families. Marian chooses to plant easy-growing fruits, herbs and vegetables, such as tomatoes, lettuces, cucumbers, runner beans, carrots and potatoes, and explains to the children the purpose and benefits of growing their own produce. Not only does this educate the children about sustainability, gardening and nutrition and encourage them to be mindful of their own diets, but it also allows Marian to get to know each individual child and understand their unique dietary requirements better. The grand opening of this new, state-of-the-art nursery was marked with a launch party on Wednesday 20 June 2023. Families from Welwyn Garden City were invited to join Kids Inc Nurseries for the celebrations and meet our two special guests for a day of fun and entertainment. The first of our guests was the Mayor of Welwyn Garden City, Councillor Pankit Shah, who came along to meet the children, parents and staff team, and gave a warm and heartfelt speech, not only to welcome Kids Inc Nurseries to Welwyn Garden City, but also to congratulate the group on making a contribution to the childcare sector for the last twenty years. Our second guest was celebrity chef and nutritionist, Tonia Buxton, who shares Kids Inc’s passion for high quality, nutritious and healthy food – an essential component of children’s development. After acquiring the site in 2021 and working closely with Dovetail Architects and Oceana Developments to draw up plans, the building has been transformed into a state-of-the-art nursery, with sector-leading furniture, fittings, equipment and resources, as well as a newly installed lift. Careful consideration has gone into the aesthetics and accessibility of each room, whilst adhering to our vision to nurture, educate and inspire the children in our care. Each room features a different colour scheme with neutral tones, creating environments that are optimum for children’s care, learning and development, as well as ensuring the health and safety of the children, the staff team and visitors. The nursery caters for babies and young children aged from 3 months to 5 years and offers a colourful garden, complete with a bike track and soft play area. Across the nursery, you will find five children’s rooms, a shiny new kitchen, a laundry room, baby milk and meal prep facilities, baby changing facilities and a meeting room. We welcomed over 50 guests, including the Mayor and Mayoress of Gravesham, local councillors and dignitaries, lots of children and parents, representatives from the local early years department, as well as a number of our suppliers.

On Wednesday 29 June, Kids Inc Nurseries celebrated the opening of their newest nursery in Gravesend. We welcomed over 50 guests, including the Mayor and Mayoress of Gravesham, local councillors and dignitaries, lots of children and parents, representatives from the local early years department, as well as a number of our suppliers.   Our state of the art nursery will cater for over 90 children. The children’s rooms are equipped with industry leading furniture and equipment, we have a few chickens and rabbits already in residence and the outdoor areas are spectacular. Even the Mayor could not resist having a go on the slide! Supporting Our Suppliers The opening was a great opportunity to welcome the teams from Community Playthings and KCS so that they could see for themselves how their furniture and supplies have helped us to create safe and stimulating ‘home from home’ environments for the children. Supporting Local Businesses Kids Inc Nurseries are committed to supporting the local communities in the areas where our nurseries are based. Hence, in preparation for our grand event, we sourced the cakes, balloons, gazebos, entertainment and soft play from local businesses. After acquiring the site in 2019 and then putting the project on hold during Covid, the building has now been transformed into a state-of-the-art nursery. Careful consideration went into the aesthetics and our vision to nurture, educate and inspire the children in our care. Each room features a different colour scheme with neutral tones and furniture and equipment to suit the children’s learning needs. The nursery caters for babies and young children aged from 3 months to 5 years and offers several gardens and outdoor areas for the children to enjoy. The children have access to a woodland area, bike track, musical shed, a chicken coop and an amazing slide from the first floor down into the garden. There is also a sizable field, which will feature a football pitch and accommodate numerous other sports activities. Across the nursery, there are five children’s rooms, a shiny new kitchen, laundry room, milk prep facilities, baby changing room and a meeting room. Why Did We Choose Haven House? Last September, the Kids Inc Nursery Managers voted for their charity of choice that they wished for Kids Inc Nurseries to support in the upcoming months. Former Kids Inc Beehive Lane children, Neo and Rico, have set up ‘Treats for Kids’, a charity which helps disadvantaged children with special treats throughout the year. Their most recent appeal is for donations of Easter eggs. Treats for Kids was founded back in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic because Neo and Rico believed all children deserved treats, particularly because the pandemic affected all of us and left many children struggling mentally. Neo and Rico are using their organisation to put a smile on children’s faces and act as a bright light for all children to follow. Kids Inc Donation to Treats for Kids When we learned that the children behind Treats for Kids were former Kids Inc children, we were keen to help and donated £250 towards their charity to support them in helping others.   Neo said: ‘We have received another extremely generous donation of £250 from Kids Inc Nurseries to buy Easter Eggs for our Easter Egg Appeal 2022. Exploring Emotions with Children Did you know that 1 in 6 children and young people have a mental health problem and more struggle with issues such bullying and bereavement? It is important to identify emotions in children and show them how to explore those when needed. Our nurseries use many different ways to support children’s understanding of feelings and emotions. Books such as ‘How Full is Your Bucket? ’ and ‘The Worry Monster’ allow children to explore the complexity of emotions in a child friendly environment. Emma has worked for Kids Inc Nurseries since 1996 and has always had the strongest bonds with her key children and their families. During her time with us, Emma has worked both in rooms and as a nursery manager, but she found her true passion is working directly with the children to nurture, educate, and inspire them.

In October 2021, Kids Inc Beehive Lane received a ‘GOOD’ in their Ofsted inspection. We would like to say well done to the Beehive Lane Nursery Manager, Nazia, and the rest of the team for continuing to nurture, educate and inspire the children in their care. The Ofsted inspectors were complimentary about both the team and the children, describing the children: ‘Children arrive eager to start the day and play with their friends. The Covid-19 pandemic changed the lives of many individuals and hugely impacted lockdown babies in their early years development stages thus presenting many challenges for parents. Whether you had to introduce a home learning environment via zoom, self-isolate or introduce a new baby into the family, there were a lot of strains that parents had to manage during the lockdowns and following the country re-opening. Understanding your new ‘normal’ can be difficult. It is important that we assist babies and young children in their development, but to do that, it is necessary to highlight the key areas in which the pandemic has impacted your little ones. The Impacts on Lockdown Babies There are around 1,700 babies born every day in England, so there are many babies and little ones whose lives have been impacted since the first lockdown. When all restrictions were in place, expectant mothers had to attend scans and appointments alone and potentially even give birth without a partner by their side. The growth and development of a baby’s progression is a very important focus for the first 1,000 days of their lives. For both parents and babies, there was a huge decline in social interactions. This resulted in babies and young children only being comfortable around their immediate family and not enjoying any interaction with grandparents, friends and the outside world. The events were open to both the public and our children, parents and staff. Thank you to all of you who came along to join in the festive fun! Snow Festival Fun and Activities Santa and his reindeer visited both events, bringing with them special gifts for all the children. Everyone was also treated to free pizza and given the chance to enter a raffle with amazing prizes. We would like to extend a huge thank you to other local businesses that came along and set up food and gift stalls for our visitors and to our staff teams for providing numerous fun activities and games for the children to enjoy. The events raised £400 for Haven House Children's Hospice. One parent commented: "I just wanted to say a huge thank you for putting on the Snow Festival last night. My partner and I attended the event with our daughter, and the three of us had a fantastic time. The event was really well organised, was much bigger than I expected and had a wonderful atmosphere. With ‘Organic September’ well under way, our nurseries are now harvesting their own-grown organic, fresh produce to be used in their menus. Our Clarence Avenue Day Nursery’s chef, Marian Ionita, is one such individual who’s paving the way for more nurseries to follow his sustainability example and grow great-tasting, fresh, organic produce. However, Marian isn’t just a nursery chef – he’s an integral part of Clarence Avenue’s culture and the children’s daily lives.

Following the opening of our Clarence Avenue nursery in September, the team held an official Clarence Avenue launch day on 6 October 2021. The day was organised to celebrate the new setting, welcome the new staff team and finally open the doors to children, parents and visitors. The Clarence Avenue Launch Attendees All of the guests were greeted with goody bags and welcome drinks, followed by a tour of the nursery. Throughout the day, we had teams from Redbridge Early Years and That Nursery Life come along to see the nursery in action, as well as the senior management team, the training team and all those based at our head office. Kids Inc Nurseries were lucky enough to greet the Mayor of Redbridge as their guest of honour. The mayor was interested in hearing the story of the nursery’s journey and the building challenges we experienced along the way. The Mayor officially announced the nursery opening and thanked the Kids Inc team for their work over the last 18 months, for keeping ‘hub’ nurseries open during the first lockdown last year and for contributing so much to the local community in Redbridge, from supporting key workers to making donations to local hospitals and key workers. Find Your Favourite Story Choose your favourite story book and then explore your house to try and find the characters, whether they are stuffed toys, plastic models or playdough cutters, etc. Example: One of our children’s favourite story books is ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ and in this book there is a family, a bear, and lots of elements such as grass, mud, water etc. Get Creative Once you have gathered the props for the story, try putting on different voices for each character. If you cannot find any props, try making puppets from wooden spoons, lolly sticks or just drawing pictures of your child’s favourite character. Older children can try and model their favourite character from play-dough or cookie mix. Learning Areas In nursery, we focus on learning through play to encourage skills and personal development. Despite the uncertainty that the global pandemic brought, parents are now returning to work, and the country is beginning to re-open, so Kids Inc Nurseries is here to help you in the best way that we can.
