Course Learning Objectives

  • We discover how energy, transport, water, food and fashion impact global warming.
  • We identify the pillars for sustainability and how this links with the UN Global Goals for Sustainability.
  • We explore experiences for our children, to teach them about the impact that we can make to create positive change.

This training offers reflective opportunities to consider how we can create adjustments to reduce greenhouse gases. The biggest contributors towards global warming are energy, transport, water, food and fashion. We explore how an average nursery contributes to these areas and then offer suggestions on how we can reduce our impact on the planet.

We are very passionate about working towards the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These goals identify that ending poverty and other deprivations must be considered with strategies that reduce inequality, improve health and education, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.

In the afternoon, we dive deeper into each of these goals and how we can provide experiences and new terminology to extend children’s vocabulary, all whilst embedding the importance of their impact upon the planet, starting with the early years.
