SPRING TERM 2020

Festival of Sleep Day – Friday 3 January
What a good excuse to come to nursery dressed in your favourite pyjamas! Festival of sleep day was designed for people to unwind after the festive season. All children and staff are invited to come into nursery dressed in their pyjamas.

Coffee and Breakfast Morning – 8.00am to 9.30am, Thursday 9 January
All parents are warmly invited to join us for a coffee and breakfast morning. Come and join us for a bite to eat before you go to work. Why not take a breakfast bag with you if you haven’t got time to stay? What a great way to start the day!

Chinese New Year – 9.30am to 10.30am, Friday 24 January
We would like to invite you to join us in celebrating the Chinese New Year. Be prepared to get creative making lanterns, candle holders and fireworks! The Chinese New Year welcomes the beginning of a new lunar year and is also known as the Spring Festival.

National Storytelling Week – 3:30pm to 4:00pm, Monday 3 February
Week commencing 3 February is national story telling week, we will be holding a story telling afternoon to celebrate. All children are welcome to bring in their favourite stories to share with their friends. Please ensure all books are labelled with your child’s name.

Valentine’s Day – 10:00am to 10.30am, Friday 14 February
We would like to invite all parents to come in and make gifts for Valentine’s Day. The children will be making cards, clay hearts and much more for their loved ones. Children are also invited to wear red for the day to celebrate.

Pancake Day – Tuesday 25 February
The children will be making with the help of our nursery cook. They will decorate them and enjoy them at tea time. Our rooms will also be having a pancake tossing competition using bean bags to see whose pancake goes the furthest.

World Book Day – Thursday 5 March
We would like to invite you to bring your favourite book or story in to share with your friends. Why not come dressed as your favourite character?

St. Patrick’s Day – Tuesday 17 March
To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, we would like to invite your little ones to wear green. We will be making shamrocks and good luck charms with clay and other collage materials.

Mother’s Day – 10.00am to 10.30am, Friday 20 March
We would like to invite all our daddies to come in and make something with their children to show the mummies how much we love them. Come along and decorate a card and make a present with the children to give to their mummy on Mother’s Day.

Easter Bonnet Competition – Wednesday 8 April
To celebrate Easter, we would like to invite you to get creative at home with your little ones and make an Easter bonnet. All entries will be put on display for everyone to see and vote for. The most imaginative creation in each department (done by a child!) will win an Easter prize.

Dress Up Day – Tuesday 14 April
All children are invited to dress up in their favourite costumes for this fun fancy dress day.

St George’s Day – Thursday 23 April
We would like to invite all children to come into nursery in fancy dress and join in with our Knights and Princesses day. There will be prizes for the best costumes.
