AUTUMN TERM 2018

Dress Up Day – Wednesday 5 September
All children are invited to dress up in their favourite costumes on this fun day of fancy dress.

Mexican Independence Day – Friday 14 September
To celebrate Mexican Independence Day, we will be making Mexican flags, eating Mexican food. We would like to invite the children to wear red, white and green.

Jeans for Genes Day – Friday 21 September
Everyone is invited to wear their jeans or denim for the day. Please bring a donation with you on the day.  All of the money raised will go to Jeans for Genes which supports children affected by genetic disorders.

Pirate & Princess Day – Thursday 11 October
We would like to invite all children to dress up as a Pirate or Princess for the day. There will be a prize for the best dressed!

Dress Up Day – Tuesday 23 October
All children are invited to dress up in their favourite costumes on this fun day of fancy dress.

Pumpkin Carving Competition – Thursday 25 October
Every year we hold this competition and are amazed by the entries! What creation could you carve on the pumpkin with your child?  There will be a prize for the best creation in each class.  All entries must be in by Tuesday 30 October.

Ugly Bugs Ball – Wednesday 31 October
Every year we hold our annual fancy dress party, where all the children can dress up as their favourite spooky character. We also have lots of fun games accompanied by a spooky menu for the day

Bonfire Night – Monday 5 November
To celebrate bonfire night the children are going to be making colourful pictures using glittler and paints. They will be making edible sparklers to take home.

Diwali – 9.30am to 10.30am, Wednesday 7 November
Diwali celebrates the Hindu festival of light. The children will be making cards, lanterns and divas to share with their families.

Remembrance Day – Friday 9 November
To honour the sacrifices and achievements that were made in all past wars we will be making poppies with our loved ones.

Dress Up Day – Thursday 22 November
All children are invited to dress up in their favourite costumes on this fun day of fancy dress.

Letter to Father Christmas – 9.30am to 10.30am, Monday 3 December
We would like to invite all children to get ready for Christmas. The children will be writing letters to Father Christmas and sending them to the North Pole.

Christmas Singing – 3.30pm to 4.00pm, Tuesday 11 December
We would like to invite all parents of our under 3’s to come in and sing festive songs with the children.

Christmas Dinner – Tuesday 18 December
We will be enjoying a delicious festive dinner, with all the trimmings.

Butterflies Nativity Play – 3.30pm to 4.00pm, Wednesday 19 December
We would like to invite all parents of our Butterflies children to come in and watch the nativity play.

Christmas Party – 2.00pm to 4.00pm, Thursday 20 December
All children are invited to join in with our Christmas celebrations.   We will be having a Christmas party with a special tea, and Father Christmas will be bringing presents!

Christmas Jumper Day – Friday 21 December
For a small donation of £1.00 everyone is invited to wear their Christmas jumpers to celebrate this national day. All the proceeds will be going to Barnados.

Christmas Eve – Monday 24 December
All children & staff are invited to wear their Christmas jumpers for the day to complete the festive celebrations before the holidays begin.

 

SPRING TERM 2019

Coffee and breakfast morning – 8.00am to 9.30am, Friday 11 January
All parents are warmly invited to join us for a coffee and breakfast morning. Come and have a nice bite to eat before you go to work.  Why not take a breakfast bag with you, if you haven’t got time to stay. What a great way to start the day!

Story Telling Afternoon – 3:30pm to 4:00pm, Monday 21 January
We will be having a story telling afternoon, so bring in a copy of your favourite book to share with your teachers and friends. Parents are also welcome to come and join in if you would like to.

Chinese New Year – 9.30am to 10.30am, Tuesday 5 February
We would like to invite you to join us to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Be prepared to get creative making lanterns, candle holders and pretend fireworks!  The Chinese New Year welcomes the beginning of a new lunar year and is also known as the Spring Festival.

Valentine’s Day – 10:00am to 10.30am, Thursday 14 February
We would like to invite all parents to come in and make gifts for Valentine’s Day. The children will be creating paintings, cards, clay hearts and much more for their loved ones.

Children’s Book Day – Thursday 7 March
We would like to invite your child to bring in their favourite book or story to share with their friends. Why not come dressed as your favourite character?

St. Patrick’s Day – Friday 15 March
To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day we would like to invite your little ones to wear green. We will be making shamrocks and good luck charms with clay and other collage materials

Holi – Wednesday 20 March
To celebrate this Hindu Spring Festival, we would like to invite all children to wear red and green. We will be creating pictures of spring animals, flowers and colours.

Mother’s Day – 10.00am to 10.30am, Friday 29 March
We would like to invite all daddies to come in and make something with their child to show the mummies how much they are loved. Come along and decorate a card or create a picture or sculpture to give to the mummies on Mother’s Day.

Easter Bonnet Competition – Thursday 18 April
To celebrate Easter, we would like to invite you to get creative with your little ones and help them make their very own Easter bonnets. All entries will be put on display for everyone to see and vote for.  The most imaginative creation will be awarded with an Easter egg and there will be prizes for the best entry in each department.

St George’s Day – Tuesday 23 April
We would like to invite all children to come into nursery in fancy dress and join in with our Knights and Princesses Day. There will be prizes for the best costumes.

Cake Making & Decorating – 2:00pm to 3:00pm, Tuesday 30 April
We will be holding a baking afternoon where we invite all parents to come along and make cakes and decorate them with your children. Our chef will be on hand to give advice and offer a helping hand if needed.
