SPRING TERM 2019
Coffee and breakfast morning – 8.00am to 9.30am, Friday 11 January
All parents are warmly invited to join us for a coffee and breakfast morning. Come and have a nice bite to eat before you go to work. Why not take a breakfast bag with you, if you haven’t got time to stay. What a great way to start the day!
Story Telling Afternoon – 3:30pm to 4:00pm, Monday 21 January
We will be having a story telling afternoon, so bring in a copy of your favourite book to share with your teachers and friends. Parents are also welcome to come and join in if you would like to.
Chinese New Year – 9.30am to 10.30am, Tuesday 5 February
We would like to invite you to join us to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Be prepared to get creative making lanterns, candle holders and pretend fireworks! The Chinese New Year welcomes the beginning of a new lunar year and is also known as the Spring Festival.
Valentine’s Day – 10:00am to 10.30am, Thursday 14 February
We would like to invite all parents to come in and make gifts for Valentine’s Day. The children will be creating paintings, cards, clay hearts and much more for their loved ones.
Children’s Book Day – Thursday 7 March
We would like to invite your child to bring in their favourite book or story to share with their friends. Why not come dressed as your favourite character?
St. Patrick’s Day – Friday 15 March
To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day we would like to invite your little ones to wear green. We will be making shamrocks and good luck charms with clay and other collage materials
Holi – Wednesday 20 March
To celebrate this Hindu Spring Festival, we would like to invite all children to wear red and green. We will be creating pictures of spring animals, flowers and colours.
Mother’s Day – 10.00am to 10.30am, Friday 29 March
We would like to invite all daddies to come in and make something with their child to show the mummies how much they are loved. Come along and decorate a card or create a picture or sculpture to give to the mummies on Mother’s Day.
Easter Bonnet Competition – Thursday 18 April
To celebrate Easter, we would like to invite you to get creative with your little ones and help them make their very own Easter bonnets. All entries will be put on display for everyone to see and vote for. The most imaginative creation will be awarded with an Easter egg and there will be prizes for the best entry in each department.
St George’s Day – Tuesday 23 April
We would like to invite all children to come into nursery in fancy dress and join in with our Knights and Princesses Day. There will be prizes for the best costumes.
Cake Making & Decorating – 2:00pm to 3:00pm, Tuesday 30 April
We will be holding a baking afternoon where we invite all parents to come along and make cakes and decorate them with your children. Our chef will be on hand to give advice and offer a helping hand if needed.
SUMMER TERM 2019
Breakfast Morning – 8:00am to 10.00am, Friday 5 April
All parents are welcome to take a cup of tea or coffee along with a breakfast bag to help start your day. If you have time why not take a seat and relax for 5 minutes before heading out of the door. What a great way to start a Friday!
Profile Week – Monday 15 April to Friday 19 April
It’s that time to book an appointment with your child’s key person to have a catch up on their development. The timetable will be available week commencing Monday 8 April 2019.
St Georges Day – Tuesday 23 April
We are inviting all children to come into nursery in fancy dress and join in with our knights & princesses day. There will be a prize for the best dressed.
Photographer – Tuesday 30 April and Wednesday 1 May
All children will be having their photographs taken by a professional photographer. Please feel free to bring in a change of clothes for your child if you would like them to wear something special for their photos. If these are not your child’s usual days then pop in between 10.00am and 3.00pm to have their picture taken.
Ramadan – 9.30am to 10.30am, Wednesday 15 May
To celebrate the start of Ramadan we will be planting vegetable seeds to take home and grow and share with our families once they have grown. We would like to invite parents to come in with their children to join in.
Wesak – Friday 17 May
To celebrate Buddha’s birthday, we would like to invite everyone to come dressed in bright colours. The children will be making brightly coloured lanterns.
Cultural Diversity Day – Tuesday 21 May
All children are invited to dress up in their national dress. We will be listening to different music from around the world and the children will be creating their own tea with the help from our chef.
Father’s Day – 9.30am to 10.30am, Friday 14 June
We would like to invite all mummies to come in and make something with their children to show their daddies or grandads how much they are loved. Come along and decorate a card and create a picture or a sculpture to take home and give out on Sunday.
Sports Day – 2.00pm to 4.00pm, Friday 28 June
We would like to invite all of our pre-school children to a fun afternoon to celebrate their sporting skills. There will be a variety of races from the egg race to the sack race. There will be a picnic with refreshments for everyone to join in and enjoy from 3.00pm to 4.00pm.
Teddy Bears Picnic – Thursday 18 July
All children are invited to bring in a teddy bear from home to join in with the tea time picnic outside.
Auntie and Uncles Day – 9.30am to 10.30am, Friday 26 July
To celebrate auntie and uncles day, we will be making cards to show them how much we care. Come along and join in with us.
Summer Fete & Pre-school Graduation – Time TBC, Saturday 3 August
We would like to invite all of our pre-school parents to a very special ceremony. Our school leavers will attend their graduation ceremony and then enjoy their very first Prom! Don’t forget to wear your best clothes!
We would also like to invite you, your families and friends to join us in celebrating summer time. We will have various activities and stalls. There will be cakes, tombola, face painting, food and much more.
Wiggle your toes day – Tuesday 6 August
We will be celebrating wiggle your toes day with our stretch and grow activities in pre-school. Other age groups will be exercising and using their physical skills in the garden.

Carnival – 2.00pm to 4.00pm, Friday 23 August
To celebrate Black Caribbean culture we will be holding our own carnival. We would like to invite everyone to join in the fun. We will have a traditional tea, making headdresses and dancing to traditional music.
Cake making and decorating – 2:00pm to 2:45pm, Thursday 29 August
We will be holding a baking afternoon where we invite all parents to come along and make cakes and decorate them with their little ones. Our chef Vicky will be on hand to assist and offer a helping hand if needed.
