SPRING TERM 2019

Messy play day – Thursday 10 January
We will be having a fun day full of messy activities. We will be spending the day exploring the different textures and qualities of all sorts of things.

Shrove Tuesday – 8:00am to 9:00am Tuesday 5 February
All parents are invited to join us for a pancake breakfast to celebrate Pancake Day.

Chinese New Year – Tuesday 5 February
The year of the pig. We will be celebrating by making Chinese dragons, lanterns and enjoying a homemade Chinese lunch.

Valentine’s Day –Thursday 14 February
We will be celebrating Valentine’s Day by making cards to take home and making some yummy heart biscuits.

World Book Day – Thursday 7 March
We would like to invite the children to bring in their favourite book to share with their friends. It would be great if they came in dressed up as their favourite character too.

St. Patrick’s Day – Friday 15 March
To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day we would like to invite your child to join in with the staff and wear something green for the day. We will be making shamrocks and colourful rainbows.

Holi – Wednesday 20 March
To celebrate this Hindu Spring Festival, we would like to invite all children to wear bright colours. The children will be doing pictures of spring animals and flowers with lots of different colours.

World water day – Friday 22 March
We will be having a splashing day playing with water. We will also be looking at the different ways we benefit from water, such as having it to drink to sustain ourselves to washing our hands to keep us healthy and clean.

Mother’s Day – 3:30pm to 4:00pm, Friday 29 March
We would like to invite all nursery mummies to come in a join us for a special afternoon tea with sandwiches and cakes.

Easter egg hunt – Thursday 18 March
During the day we will be enjoying an Easter egg hunt around the nursery to see if the Easter bunny has left any nice treats for us all.

Easter Bonnet Competition – Entries to be in by Thursday 18 April
To celebrate Easter, we would like to invite you to get creative with your little ones and help them to make an Easter bonnet. All entries will be put on display for everyone to see and vote for.  . There will be a prize for the winner.

SUMMER TERM 2019

St George’s Day – Tuesday 23 April
We would like to invite all children to come into nursery in fancy dress and join in with our knights and princesses day, they can wear any fancy dress they choose.

Space Day – Friday 3 May
Get your space boots at the ready as we travel into space for the day. We will be looking at the different planets and talking about the night sky. The children will also have the opportunity to make their own planets too.

Messy Day! – Thursday 9 May
Join us for a fun and messy day where we will can all take part in some of our favourite activities such as painting, dancing and making some yummy cake to have at tea time.

Music Monday – Monday 20 May
We will be listening to different music from around the world and making our own musical instruments to showcase our own music.

Teddy Bears Picnic – Wednesday 26 June
We invite you to bring your teddies in for a yummy teddy bears picnic with homemade sandwiches and biscuits.

Daddies Stay and Play – 9.30am to 11.00am, Friday 14 June
We would like to invite all daddies or grandads to come and join us for a morning of fun. See the exciting things your children get up to and take part in some of the fun and messy activities that we do here!

Odd Sock Day – Tuesday 18 June
A day for all those lonely odd socks everyone has at home. Everyone is invited to come in wearing odd socks and we will all look silly together!

Independence Day – Thursday 4 July
Come to nursery dressed in red, white and blue ready for a day of celebrating America. The children will be making flags and baking some yummy celebratory treats.

Wimbledon – Monday 8 July
Tennis balls at the ready, we will have an exciting day of learning to play tennis, making marks with tennis balls in paints and enjoying some yummy strawberries and yogurt.

Pre-school Graduation – Time TBC, Friday 19 July
We would like to invite all our pre-school children and parents, who will soon be leaving us to start their next exciting adventure at ‘big school’, to come in and join us for the children’s graduation, followed by a picnic party in the garden.

Friendship Day – Tuesday 6 August
We will be celebrating all the lovely friendships we have made during our time at nursery. We will be making friendship bracelets and doing lots of different activities alongside our friends.

Dress Up Day – Wednesday 14 August
We invite all children and staff to dress up today as anyone you would like to be. Will you be a superhero, Disney princess or even the Gruffalo? We are very excited to see who will be joining us at nursery today.

National Sports Week – Monday 26 to Friday 30 August
This week the children will have the opportunity to try out lots of different sporting activities such as obstacle courses, ball and running games. Come dressed in your sportiest outfits ready to take part.
