Dear Parents

We write to draw your attention to the following ‘housekeeping’ items.

T Shirts and Sun Hats

We would like to advise you that we have Kids Inc t-shirts for sale for ages 3-4 and 5-6.  These are priced at £4 each.  We also have Kids Inc sun hats for sale for £6 each.  Samples of these items are located in the front entrance hall.  Please let me know if you would like to place an order.

E-mail Addresses

We are currently liaising with our IT support company to develop a module to enable us to send you invoices, newsletters, photos, etc, by e-mail.  Please see myself, Emily, Deborah or Hayley to provide us with an e-mail address, if you have not already done so.

Late Charges

Please may I remind you that morning sessions are from 8.00am to 1.00pm, afternoon sessions are from 1.00pm and 6.00pm and full day sessions are from 7:30am and 6.00pm.  There is a late fee of £2 per minute if you are late collecting your child.

Car Park

Please could we request that you all park with consideration for others, and use the car park effectively.  Please note that the car park gates are locked at 6:00pm promptly.  Please refrain from leaving your cars in the car park after this time.

Clothing and Accessories

We would recommend that you dress your children in ‘nursery clothes’ suitable for nursery activities, as sometimes clothes can become dirty from painting, garden time, etc.  Please do not bring your children to nursery, wearing jewellery, hair clips, hair bands, etc, that may get lost or cause harm to a child.  We would remind you that our terms and conditions clearly state ‘We cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to children’s property.  Every reasonable effort will be made by the staff to ensure the children’s belongings are not lost or damaged.’

Fees

Please could we remind you all that fees are due on the 1st of each month.  Please let me know if you require a direct debit form, if this has not already been completed.  There is a £25 late charge if fees do not reach our account by the 1st of each month.

Profile Reviews

Please could you book a meeting with your child’s department senior nursery nurse to book a profile meeting, as these are due shortly.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Yours sincerely

Kids Inc Day Nursery – Loughton

April 2010

Dear Parents

First of all, a huge thanks to all of you who attended our Planting Day last month.  It was a lovely day, and wonderful to see so many of your faces!  The progress on the vegetable, flower and herb patch is lovely!  We hope you all saw your pictures in the Guardian newspaper or website.

Partnership with Parents

We would like to inform you that we have many forthcoming parental involvement events.  Do take a look at our Parental Calender displayed in the middle room on the ground floor.

Easter

BunnyWe all had a lovely week celebrating Easter.  The infamous Easter Bunny came to visit the nursery all week, and helped pre-school with their Easter Egg Hunt!

Well done to everyone who participated in the Easter Bonnet Parade – your bonnets were outstanding!  Congratulations to the winner, Jack, in pre-school.

Peter Pan Week – 26 to 30 April 2010

Peter-PanDuring this week, Great Ormond Street Hospital are raising money by having a Peter Pan week.  On Friday 30 April 2010, we will be having our own Peter Pan dress up day.  Please could all children that attend on that day dress up as Peter Pan.  There’s no need to purchase an expensive dressing up outfit, a green t-shirt with green or brown leggings/tights will look great.

We would be grateful for donations of £2 for our fancy dress day.  We will also be selling Peter Pan cakes and biscuits to help raise more money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Weather

As you are aware, the weather is turning much brighter.  Please bring in sun cream, sunhats and appropriate clothing for your children, so that they are comfortable whilst out in the sun.

Forthcoming Events

We have just had our first messy workshop, where children and parents were able to come and participate in lots of fun filled messy activities!

We are planning many more of these events, so please take a moment to check our parental calendar to find out more.

Staffing

StorkAs most of you are aware, Isis will shortly be entering motherhood.  Isis’ last day at the nursery will be 14 May 2010.  We will be holding good bye celebrations for Isis during the week commencing 10 May 2010.  This will give all parents the opportunity to say goodbye and wish her all the best.

We would like to welcome Maggie and Chanelle to our team.  Both are qualified to NVQ Level 2, and are already training for their NVQ Level 3.

Accidents and Incidents

Broken-ArmPlease could we remind all parents to ensure that their children’s finger nails must be kept short with no sharp edges.  We are having an increasing number of scratches occurring in the nursery due to children’s nails being too long.

We would also like to remind you of the importance of informing us of incidents that happen at home.  We have a duty to write incident forms for all injuries that happen at home as well as at the nursery, for the purposes of record keeping.  Please inform a member of staff how and when the incident happened, and we will then have a form written for you to sign.

Main Entrance

Please could we remind all parents to ensure, when entering or leaving the building, that the main door is shut tightly in its frame and that you do not open the door to other parents.

Food

CakePlease could we remind all parents to refrain from bringing any food into the nursery.  Please help yourself to our chef’s delights in the front entrance hall.

Birthday cakes or special occasion cakes can be ordered for a fee of £10.

Fees

Please could we remind all parents that fees are due on the 1st of every month.  We would prefer payments by direct debit, if possible.  If paying by cheque, then the cheques must be handed to us approximately 2 weeks before the 1st of the month, to ensure they are in our account and cleared by the 1st, thus avoiding any late payment charges.  Your co-operation in this matter is greatly appreciated.

E-mail Addresses

EmailPlease could all parents provide the nursery with up to date e-mail addresses.  We are currently liaising with our IT services company, who are trying to devise software that will enable us to e-mail you invoices, newsletters, etc, and thus need to update our records in preparation for this.

Yours sincerely
